Country School students have countless opportunities beyond the classroom to extend learning, connect with classmates, harness creativity, and just enjoy being a part of the Country School community. Field trips, special events, sports teams, student performances, extra-curricular clubs, and student publications are some of the many ways students are involved in the life of the school outside of the classroom.
One of the unique aspects of our students’ experiences at school is that they aren’t limited to one activity. A large number of kids participate in the play—whether on stage or behind the scenes—while also playing a sport or being a regular contributor to the school newspaper. Because we believe that elementary and middle school years are a time to experiment and try on new roles, we don’t “cut” students from sports teams or extra-curricular activities. It is just another way that we support our students in their individual growth.
