The Country School has two School Counselors who provide indirect as well as direct support to students, parents and teachers. Supports and services are in the form of consultations with teachers, participation in team meetings to develop learning plans, classroom observations, and short-term counseling services for students.
Student Services include individual or small group counseling services to students to address social, emotional, and/or behavioral challenges, peer mediation, collaboration with outside providers of mental health or academic support, and the administration of student screeners and rating scales as appropriate,
Services to parents involve consultation regarding counseling sessions, follow-up recommendations and strategies as needed, and referrals to or collaboration with community providers.
Faculty support is provided through consultation and classroom observations of student dynamics, and close collaboration with the Learning Specialist regarding students that have completed private assessments to determine any need to incorporate social, emotional, and/or behavior supports within a student’s Testing, Summary, and Recommendation (TSR) or learning plan.
