Curriculum Overview

Our academic program is sequential, purposeful, and thoughtful. We draw on research-informed curricula and instructional strategies to personalize instruction for each student, meeting them where they are and challenging them to stretch and grow.

At The Country School, we view the curriculum as a living document; vibrant, rigorous, flexible, and ever-evolving alongside education best practices. It serves the faculty as both a roadmap and a guide to providing a solid foundation for our students. We remain connected to the traditions, values, and history of the School. Regular review and reflection help to make sure that we are keeping the curriculum consistent with the School’s philosophy and providing the optimum education for our students.

Our goal as a school is to create life-long learners who are well-prepared for the secondary schools to which they matriculate. In a variety of developmentally appropriate ways, our curriculum infuses technology, study skills, project-based and cooperative learning experiences, hands-on exploration of topics, and emphasizes student collaboration and application of concepts.
“Every one of John’s teachers commented on how well prepared he was for high school academics. A number of them mentioned that it was obvious he had been inspired and motivated by former teachers.”
