    KRISTI BEAVEN (’86) grew up in Easton, graduating from Easton High School before obtaining a B.A. in Psychology from Denison University and then pursuing her early childhood education certification from the Maryland Department of Education. Her teaching experiences include time at St. Mark's Preschool in Easton and elementary teaching in both Caroline County Public Schools and Dorchester County Public Schools. Kristi is thrilled to be returning to her Country School roots to teach Second Grade. She lives in Preston with her husband, Andy, and two sons, Will and John.

    Emily Beck joined The Country School in July of 2022, coming from the Gunston School. 
    Emily served as the Director of the Chesapeake Watershed Semester and as Gunston’s Director of Environmental Programs. Prior to coming to Gunston, Emily spent three years in Charlottesville, VA serving as the program director of the environmental education nonprofit, The Green Adventure Project.

    During the COVID19 pandemic, Emily stepped into an interim role as Gunston’s Director of Distance Learning, leading faculty professional development and co-chairing the executive Steering Committee. In collaboration with the administrative team and lead teachers, all faculty members undertook a comprehensive summer institute offering over 30 hours of professional development, coordinated by Emily.

    Emily has over fifteen years of formal and non-formal teaching experience and has worked for many notable environmental education organizations including Shelburne Farms, the National Audubon Society, and the W. Alton Jones Center of the University of Rhode Island. She taught at the Woolman Semester, a Quaker semester school in California, and the Westtown School.

    Emily holds a B.A. in Environmental Biology from Colgate University and an M.S. in Environmental Studies from Antioch University New England with a focus on conservation biology and ecological literacy.
    Emily would rather be outdoors than in and loves exploring the Eastern Shore with her two and four-legged family members.

    CHRISTI BOYD lives in Easton with her husband and two children: Casey ('23) and Jack ('26). She graduated from Catholic University with a degree in Early Childhood Education and taught 2nd grade for six years at Blessed Sacrament School in Washington, D.C., before moving to the Eastern Shore.

    Christi is a loyal Redskins fan and loves to spend time outside of school with her family and their dog, Griffin.

    MEGAN BROOKS is originally from Doylestown, Pennsylvania and graduated from Elon University with a B.A. in elementary education. Megan began her teaching career in Montgomery County, Maryland, where she taught both kindergarten and second grade. Additionally, she spent two years teaching second grade for Talbot County Public Schools before coming to The Country School.
     
    Megan lives in Cambridge with her husband Patrick, who is a Country School alumnus (Class of 2001), and two young children, Bennett and Tenley. She says, "The Country School is a very special place to our family. I am looking forward to my son and daughter joining The Country School community in a few short years."
