Summer Fun ’15

All Summer Fun sessions are offered in one of two week-long sessions, and are open to eligible age students. Country School enrollment is not required for participation. (Medical Emergency form for non-CS students is required.) Students may elect to attend a morning or afternoon class, or both! Supervised lunchtime is provided for students who are registered for both morning and afternoon classes at no extra cost. All students must bring their own snack and/or drink each day. WEEK 1: June 15-19

JUMP START TO KINDERGARTEN, 8:30 am – 12:00 noon
Mrs. Kullman and Ms. Brent – Room 12B & Art Room
Jump Start is for the incoming Kindergartner in September 2015. It provides a wonderful way for your child to adjust to their new school while spending a week engaged in fun-filled activities and games with their classmates. The cost is $175 per student. Kindergarten families see registration form and  information enclosed in enrollment contract packet.

PAINTING EXPERIENCE, 9am – 12 noon
Mrs. Horsey – Aftercare Room
For students entering grades 5 – 8, we start painting and never stop! This class is for the student who loves to paint! We play with Color, Composition, Line, Form, and Shape. If we can, we’ll end the week with a plain air experience. The artist will need to bring a few canvas panels and if they can, a light weight easel. Paints, brushes, and fun will be supplied! Registration is limited to 6 students. The cost is $150 per student.

SSAT PREP, 8:30 am – 12:00 noon
Mr. Nittle – Room 6
Students entering grades 6-8, feeling nervous about high school admissions? Ever feel that standardized test scores never truly reflect your potential as a student? If so, consider spending a week learning the secrets of standardized admissions testing while preparing for the one independent schools trust most: the SSAT. Instructed by a question writer for the SSAT, this camp prepares your child for the rigors of any standardized test and provides formulas to help crack the vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, and mathematics sections. The cost is $175 per student and $16 textbook fee.

ARTS & CRAFTS, 1-3pm
Ms. Brent – Art Room
Students entering grades 1 and 2 will enjoy making all kinds of fun arts and crafts projects with beads, clay, paint, paper, foam crafts, and a variety of other fun materials!  If you like making cool, creative and fun projects, this camp is for you!!!  If we have time at the end of class and weather permitting, we can go outside to play briefly.   Registration is limited to 10 students. The cost is $100 per student.

THE DANGEROUS CAMP FOR BOYS, 1-3pm
Mr. Nittle – Room 6
Class is open for students entering 3rd-8th grades. Want to fire a two-liter bottle a hundred feet in the air using a simple bicycle pump?  Maybe you’d like to shoot a marshmallow across a room?  Are you looking for new ways to entertain yourself on a rainy day?  If so, rediscover timeless games and projects that many people have overlooked or forgotten in today’s fast-paced, technology-infused world. Inspired by The Dangerous Book for Boys campers will “travel back” to a time when children spent hours running around the yard exploring, inventing, and building.  Come join the fun! Registration is limited to 10 students. The cost is $100 per student and $15 materials fee.

WEEK 2: June 22-26

I’M A BIG KID NOW!, 8:30 – 11am

A class offered for preschoolers who are a year away from Kindergarten… for those who just can’t wait for Kindergarten, join us for a week of Country School summer camp. Students will have lots of fun with hands-on activities, making crafts, reading great books, and playing fun games just like the big kids in Kindergarten. Registration is limited to 10 students. The cost is $125 per student.

LET’S IMAGINE ALL THINGS ART, 9am – 12:00 noon
Mrs. Horsey – Art Room
For students entering grades 4 – 7, let your imagination go! A week of Painting, Drawing, Crafting, and more! Students will have a full week of creative experiences. All supplies provided. Registration limited to 12 students. The cost is $150 per student.
