Tuition and Fees

The value of a Country School education should be measured not solely in dollars and cents, but in the quality of the faculty who teach our children and the curriculum which they implement. It lies in small classes with lots of individual attention, an appropriate level of challenge, and a nurturing environment. It lies in the day-to-day learning experience which not only imparts the requisite skills and information, but the pleasure and excitement of learning. It lies in discovery of personal and community values and the satisfaction of the individual student in contributing to a worthwhile endeavor.

red_profileTuition for the 2015-2016 school year is $14,995 for grades 1-8, and full-day Kindergarten. Half-day Kindergarten (12:30 p.m. dismissal on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; 3:20 p.m. dismissal on Tuesdays and Thursdays) is $10,350.

Tuition is all inclusive; there are no additional program fees throughout the year. All school supplies are provided on opening day compliments of The Country School Parents’ Association (CSPA).

The Country School believes in forging a partnership with parents in the education of their children. Families who enroll their children represent a broad spectrum of professions and incomes. Varied payment plans help bring the benefits of a Country School education to many. In order to bring talent and diversity to the student body, financial aid is also offered to those who can demonstrate need.

Three payment plans are offered to accommodate the needs of Country School families. Every family makes a non-refundable deposit with the enrollment contract. The remainder of the tuition may then be paid in one, two, or several installments.

  1. One Payment Plan. A 10% deposit is due with the enrollment contract. The balance is paid in one payment on or before August 1. Tuition Refund Insurance is optional.
  2. Two Payment Plan. A 10% deposit is due with the enrollment contract. The balance is paid in two equal installments, which are due on August 1 and February 1. Tuition Refund Insurance is a required purchase. The cost of Tuition Refund Insurance is 1.5% of the total tuition.
  3. Monthly Payment Plan. A 10% deposit is due with the enrollment contract. The balance of tuition is paid on a ten month payment schedule. The 1st payment due by August 1 is 15% of the total tuition, an $95 administration fee, and 1.5% of total tuition to cover the cost of Tuition Refund Insurance which is required for the monthly payment plan. The remaining 75% of tuition is due in nine equal installments on the 1st day of the next nine months (September through May).

All financial aid is awarded on the basis of need and the availability of financial aid funds. Thirty to forty percent of our families receive some financial aid each year. Grants rarely support more than half of the annual tuition. Financial aid awards are continued in subsequent years as long as there is demonstrable need, the student continues to achieve at a satisfactory level, and funds are available. Families must reapply each year.

If you feel that your family needs financial aid, please contact the Admissions Office for application information. The process is completely confidential and is the same whether for a new applicant or for a re-enrolling student. In the case of divorce or separation, both natural parents are required to contribute to the cost of their child’s education. For complete financial aid information, please see additional information in the Financial Aid section.
